Vantage - Release notes

Our themes are updated regularly in order to ensure that when Shopify release a new feature our merchants may benefit from it. Updating your theme is optional and will come with it's own hurdles where theme versions currently do not update automatically or inherit code from older versions.

Below you will see a history of theme versions and release dates including bug fixes, major rebuilds and minor style edits.

Vantage v11.0.0 - 04/18/2024

This update clears known bugs and adds new and improved functionality to selected sections across the theme.
We have removed all code references to Shopifys product reviews app which will cease functioning on May 6th 2024. Follow Shopifys documentation to migrate to another app.

Removed

• We have removed all code associated with the Shopify reviews app as part of a mandatory Shopify update.

Added

• We added a scrolling text section.
• We added support for text and image content in the shop the look section to allow merchants to feature highlights instead of just products.
• We added support for new product image gallery scrolling layouts
• We added greater functionality to the product quick add feature which now supports products with multiple variants.
• We added a featured collection to the cart drawer to promote cart upsells.
• We added a new collection sidebar feature which allows merchants to display a persistent sidebar for filters.

Fixes and other improvements

• We fixed an issue with the incorrect discount percentage appearing on products within collections if the product has multiple compare at prices.
• We fixed an issue with letter spacing on the currency conversion dropdown.
• We fixed an error message being displayed in the promotions section if using the product block and selecting a product that has a single image.
• We adjusted the collection header section to make the use of collection images as a banner optional.

Vantage v10.3.0 - 04/01/2024

This release adds support for Shopifys new product and filter swatch feature, adds small enhancements, and removes all known bugs.

• We added support for a skip link to better navigate the store using the keyboard.

• We updated fonts to include fallback families.

Vantage v10.2.2 - 01/25/2024

Vantage v10.2.2 features bug fixes that have been found since our last update.

Fixes and improvements

• We fixed an issue with filters being capped at 1000 products
• We fixed an issue with product grid swatches not displaying centered
• We fixed an issue that prevented the cursor from showing on the sort by dropdown
• We fixed an issue with the header announcement carousel hiding after scroll
• We fixed an issue in the text with icons section where could appear stretched
• We fixed an issue with dynamic checkout buttons not appearing in the mini cart

Vantage v10.2.1 - 12/07/2023

Vantage v10.2.1 features bug fixes that have been found since our last update along with a few improvements to existing sections.

• We added a date picker to the gift card recipient form that allows the gift card to be sent on a specific date.

Changed

• We improved the text with icons section to allow the icon to link without the presence of a button or supporting text.
• We added an option to the collection carousel that allows you to choose to rotate through 1 product at a time or all currently visible.
• We updated the video and background video section to support the Shopify video picker.

Fixes and improvements

• We fixed an issue that presented the size chart modal at the top of the page instead of the middle.
• We fixed an issue where using the parallax images section interfered with the positioning of other image sections.

Vantage v10.2.0 - 11/13/2023

Added

• We added support for metaobject swatches.
• We added the fetchpriority attribute to first section images to increase performance of page speed LCP.
• We added a new parallax image wipe section with image blocks that stick until scrolled over by a sibling or other section.
• We added the country flag to the announcement bar country/region selector.
• We added support for the new "AND" filter operator.
• We added an optional product block to show payment icons.

• We changed the Twitter icon in the theme's social icons.
• We changed all the existing text alignment settings to use the new text alignment input which adds left, center and right alignment support.

• We removed the breadcrumb section being added by default across templates.

Fixes and improvements

• We fixed the Mailing Popup not closing when clicking the close button.
• We fixed an issue where having multiple size charts on a single page will always only show the popup for the first size chart.
• We fixed an issue with the Quick Add to Cart was not working.
• We fixed the vendor being removed when filtering in a vendor collection.
• We updated the themes stylesheet to comply with Shopify minifaction requirements.
• We fixed an issue with the Theme Header not sticking when the Announcement Bar is disabled.
• We fixed an issue where the Quick Add feature was not working in the Recently Viewed section.
• We fixed missing translations for the theme "or" found on customer login and cart templates.
• We fixed an issue that prevented pagination from appearing within customer order history.

Vantage v10.1.0 - 05/02/2023

• We fixed the wrong background color being used on subsequent Featured Image blocks on collection pages.

Vantage v10.0.0 - 03/08/2023

The reason for this update was to add mandatory Shopify updates for section groups in the header and footer along with predictive search typeahead suggestions. All know bugs were cleared and new sections added.

• We fixed the Recently Viewed section from not showing the translated product title.
• We fixed an issue that prevented subcollections showing on a collection page
• We fixed an issue that prevented variant images being shown in the collection grid
• We fixed an issue with the slideshow showing navigation when only 1 slide is present

The main reason for this update was to fix known issues and increase image support for Shopifys focal point options

Vantage 9.0.0 introduces several new theme features, enhances some existing theme features and includes minor bug fixes.

The main purpose of this release was to support Online Store 2.0 - Sections Everywhere and support the new core Shopify filtering. We also used the opportunity to tackle bugs, and make setting and style improvements to Vantage for a speedier setup experience.

The main purpose of this updated version is to fine-tune and sure up new features added in Vantage V7.2 

v7.2 - 2020-04-15

The main purpose of version 7.2 was to add Cross Border language and currency support and fix git issues and bugs.

• New language translations in French, German, Spanish, Portuguese for Cross Border
• New language and currency selectors in header and footer
